First EVDO Rev. B Network Launched By Smart Telecom

Smart Telecom in Bali is the world’s first network operator to deploy an EVDO Rev. B 3G wireless network. Rev. B is an evolutionary update to EVDO Rev. A, which is currently used by Sprint, Verizon and others in the U.S. for 3G services. Rev. B boosts speeds to 9.3Mbps in the downlink and 5.4Mbps in the uplink. Both Sprint and Verizon have made clear commitments to other wireless broadband technologies for their next-generations networks (WiMax and LTE, respectively), but other CDMA operators around the world, including Japan’s KDDI and China Telecom, are trialling Rev. Core i9 With Four Radeon HD 5870’s Break 3DMark Vantage Records

The old 3DMark Vantage record set by k|ngp|n of P42968 marks has been blown away by overclocker Shammy. The previous record was held with an Intel Xeon W3540 at 5048 MHz with four GTX 285s in SLI. The new record of P52578 was set by a Core i9 at 6189 MHz (6155 MHz for the other records) with HTT on and four Radeon HD 5870s in CrossFire, with core clocks of 1300 MHz and a shader clocks of 1250 MHz. All of the other vantage records were broken, namely the Entry, Performance, High and Extreme presets. The images are in order of preset from Entry to Extreme.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone said Thursday that his company has about 200 employees and expects this number would double this year. Stone was speaking to

The Android Opportunity

I look upon it with glum disappointment. I’ve said it before and will say it again, the best thing that could happen for Apple and iPhone owners would be for at least one strong rival to appear.
